Cleveland County

Each county within the Gaston-Lincoln-Cleveland Continuum of Care has a county-based Work Group. The purpose of the county Work Group is to coordinate activities that are specific to the geographical boundaries of that county, to influence and assist with CoC-wide strategies and priorities, and to educate/advocate at the hyper-local level around issues that impact the entire G-L-C CoC region. Work Groups also recruit new members to the G-L-C CoC and provide for representation on the G-L-C’s Advisory Board and CoC-wide committees. Work Groups are not autonomous CoC’s but, rather, provide critical infrastructure and influence that makes a regional CoC covering Cleveland, Gaston, and Lincoln counties successful.

The Cleveland CoC Work Group

The Cleveland County CoC Work Group currently meets on the second Thursday of each month from 10:30am-12:00noon. Meetings take place via zoom. The Work Group’s 2023 chairperson is Melodie McSwain, Executive Director of the Mental Health Association of Cleveland County (mha@clevelandcountymha.org). Areas of focus for the Cleveland County CoC Work Group in 2023 include Coordinated Entry and the development of a service “One-Stop Shop.”
